A few weekends ago, my boyfriend and I headed down to Nashville for a work/play road trip. It was a welcomed mini adventure for the weekend. My boyfriend’s band played in Nashville a couple of times last year, but this was the first time we could get out and experience more than just Broadway. I love to check out vintage and fabric stores anytime I’m traveling so we went around to a few of Nashville’s gems.
First we hit Pre to Post Modern Vintage. It is a really well curated vintage store with a wide selection of clothing, jewelry, mid-century furniture and kitchen wares. After perusing their huge selection, I hit the jack pot when I found flamingo and palm tree cocktail stirrers. These babies are perfect for a home DIY I have cooking.
I’ve been rocking aviators for quite a while now so I was delighted to find a new pair of sunnies that were a bit out of my comfort zone. I love the combo of 60s circle lenses and modified cat eye frame. I was so pleased with my new sunnies that I rocked these babies right out the store!
The second vintage shop we visited was the The Hip Zipper . It’s another super cute vintage shop with a big selection. They had a great jewelry selection, which I spent most of the time trying to make up my mind on a piece to buy.
Next we hit the Textile Fabric Store. This place has a huge selection of fabrics including a little slice of sequin heaven in the speciality fabrics. Although I didn’t purchase any sequined fabric, I did pick up some swanky purple fur that I have planned for a cool Fall accessory.
Lastly we hit a two record stores: Groove and Grimey’s. We found a bunch of awesome (Betty Davis, 38 Special) and ridiculous (album cover with a lobster riding a guitar into the sky) records to add to our growing collection. Half the fun of collection records is for the over-the-top album art. We have a bad ass home DIY in the works, which I plan to feature on here in the future.
Here’s the Nashville swag I brought home. Hopefully, I introduced you to a few gems to visit next time you’re in Nashville. Do you have any Nashville suggestions for me?
